Something Everyone Hungers For

We can go to endless seminars, workshops, psychics, hire an emotional intelligence coach (I am available) or you can simply love what you do and those you serve. If you truly love [love does not mean LIKE or LIKE VERY MUCH it means a sentimentality that you could never live without] your audience loving kindness will follow. Loving kindness provides people what they long for. This is something that only one human being can offer another. With the pressures and speed in how business is done today it is easy to underestimate the power of a loving gesture.

Is This A Moot Point?

Treat Everyone As Though They Were The Most Important Person In The World! Well to be honest for now I would settle for you treating everyone as though they influenced your paycheck.

Five Customer Touch Points

Your consumer isn't a target market (or any other type of target) or a means to an end. Each person you do business with needs to feel appreciated ['need' as in an emotional and psychological 'need']. People feel appreciated in different ways and you should work to identify the best way to serve them. You may find that a person will respond best to your efforts when you combine more then one of the following elements:

Affirm Me

A certain number of people you interact with need to be affirmed. In many cases actions don’t always speak louder than words. These types want to be affirmed and love sincere compliments.

Negative or unkind words or tonalities could cause challenges down the road.

Time Me

Some of your folks will feel appreciated when you make time for them. The time you spend with them translates into providing your undivided attention and concern (don't keep looking at the time or keep putting them on hold).  Affirming that you will be happy to make time and then following through on this commitment when the moment calls for it will go a long way.

Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful.

Lavish Me

A few of your peeps love gifts and feel most appreciated when someone is thoughtful and places an effort in providing a small token of appreciation.

A missed birthday, anniversary, or a hasty, thoughtless gift would be disastrous.

Serve Me

"What have you done for me lately?" These clients feel acts of service speak louder then words. Anything you do to ease the burden of responsibilities beyond the norm of everyday business will go far. The words he or she most wants to hear: “Let me do that for you.”

Laziness, broken commitments, and making more work for them can be the cause of resentments.

Touch Me

These are customers who need to see you in person.  This is a type of person who appreciates being touched and will show that by being very touchy themselves. Hugs, pats on the back, and thoughtful touches on the arm, or shoulder will go a long way. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial.

Causing these type of customers to feel neglected can be disastrous.

If most cases people will treat you the way they want to be treated so lean in and pay attention.

Now its time to treat your customers like people.  Be anti-cattle!
